Introducing Bibiana Huber, the director and creative force behind B-Huber, the architectural studio for the Aldea Mayab Bacalar development.
Her knack for crafting concepts, her understanding of aesthetics, and her passion for design and architecture have earned her two gold medals at the IV Ibero-American Biennial, including the ones for best art and design integration and the newcomer of the year.
She was honored with the Best Industrial Designer Award in Jalisco, Mexico, and was nominated for the Adolf Horn Entrepreneurship Award.
In 2015, she was recognized as one of Mexico’s 31 most talented young women. When asked about her considerations when starting a design concept, she replied: «We believe that a place’s identity is shaped by its environment, traditions, and architecture, so interior design, in general, should reflect its location and culture.»
Her Swiss and Mexican roots infuse her work with a warm yet precise blend. She studied fine arts in Florence, Italy, and industrial design at the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Guadalajara, Mexico. She began working as an independent contractor at the age of 19, designing a prestigious jewelry store in Guadalajara. Her potential became evident when she went head to head with international architectural firms in a competition, which she won, securing the contract for Hotelito Desconocido, a luxury boutique hotel in Costa Alegre, Mexico. She clinched this deal at the age of 22.
Today, B-Huber is one of the most prestigious architecture and design studios in Mexico. They collaborate with renowned companies such as Four Seasons, Hilton, Marriott, Indigo, and luxurious boutique hotels in various locations around the world, including Tulum, Todos Santos, and Costa Alegre in Mexico, as well as Costa Rica and Fiji. Bibiana has been a speaker at numerous design conferences in Latin America, sharing her passion and enthusiasm for design with students and professionals in the creative field.
