Creative, young, talented industrial designer
We present to you Bibiana Huber, director and creative of B-Huber, architectural studio of the Aldea Mayab Bacalar development.
Her ability to develop concepts, her understanding of aesthetics, and her passion for design and architecture have earned her two gold medals at the IV Ibero-American Biennial, including best integration of art and design and revelation of the year.
She was awarded the prize for best industrial designer in Jalisco, Mexico, and nominated for the Adolf Horn Award for entrepreneurs.
She was also considered one of the 31 most talented young women in Mexico in 2015, when she was asked what her considerations were when starting to develop a design concept, she replied: “We consider that the identity of each place is the result of its environment, traditions, and architecture, so the interior design in general should reflect its location and culture.”
Her Swiss and Mexican roots bring a warm but precise mix to her work, she studied fine arts in Florence, Italy, and industrial design at the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Guadalajara, Mexico, she began working as an independent contractor at the age of 19, designing a prestigious jewelry store in Guadalajara, which propelled her from an early age, and this became evident when she entered a face-to-face competition with international architecture firms, which she won for the contract of Hotelito Desconocido, a luxury boutique hotel in Costa Alegre, Mexico; this was her first contract at the age of 22.
Today, B-Huber is one of the most prestigious architecture and design studios in Mexico, working with firms such as Four Seasons, Hilton, Marriott, Indigo, and luxurious boutique hotels in different parts of the world such as Tulum, Todos Santos, and Costa Alegre in Mexico, Costa Rica, and Fiji. Bibiana has been a speaker at many design conferences in Latin America, sharing her passion and enthusiasm for design with students and professionals in the creative field.
