
Ichkabal ruins open to the public for the first time
The construction of the Tren Maya has been accompanied by various programs such as the Program for the Improvement of Archaeological Zones (Promeza), highlighting the opening to the public of the spectacular Ichkabal ruins located in the magical town of Bacalar, Quintana Roo. The director of the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) commented that the state of Quintana Roo will be one of the states most benefited by the Promeza program. It was also announced that within the Mayan city of Uxmal, Yucatán, a stele carved on both sides was recently discovered. “It is a female deity, with large eyes, chins at the corners of the mouth and bare chest, has a pectoral of three rows of hemispherical pearls, bracelets with two rows of pearls and a reticulated skirt that covers up to the heels
